“I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky”.

Only 22 years old, Monica Lewinsky initiates an affair with the President of the United States Bill Clinton – an affair with the most powerful man in the world.

Before she knew it, she was hated by a whole nation and thus became the figurehead for cyberbullying in the ‘90s most widely-discussed personal and political scandal.

Monicagate is a story about humiliation, lies, power, mistakes, and it is a portrait of a woman who quickly became involved in a string of lies much bigger than herself. A simple crush with unpredictable consequences.

Supported by DANSKE DRAMATIKERE, KØBENHAVNS KOMMUNE

This is a text that demands an ambitious performance, and I have to say that's exactly what Partner in Crime aims to do.

(Den 4. Væg)

It's a story full of meat on it, and it works really, really well in the theatre. But with ‘Monicagate’, Partner In Crime is not just trying to tell the story. They want much more than that.
