<CHRISTMAS IN DIVORCE LAND>

Christmas is about love, family and 'hygge', something we Danes see our selves as being experts at!

It is December 24th. True to tradition, Vera, Simon and Mathias are gathered at the local, cigarette smoke filled bar before the trip goes home for Christmas. Mathias’ first Christmas after his parent’s divorce was supposed to go smoothly. But all three of them are struggling with the stress, the duties, and the small ticking bombs, as they joggle with multiple families in Divorce Land. Because everyone knows, there is only one way to get Christmas right.

‘Jul i Skilsmisseland’ is a humoristic story about ‘the adult children of divorce’ and the efforts to get unharmed through a minefield of intrigue.

In other words, Jul i Skilsmisseland is not a fart-and-ballad Christmas revue. It's actually quite sad. Which doesn't prevent several roars of laughter when - especially - the hypocrisy of the parental generation is exposed.

Four Christmas stars for a show that is definitely worth taking a break from the Christmas rush for.

(Sten Blendstrup - POV International)

We are witnessing a great piece of drama that I would like to see running again next Christmas. There are good dynamics between the main characters, both in the tragic and vulnerable scenes as well as when they come together in tender embrace and play carols on the kazoo to the delight of the audience.

(Kira Bach Pedersen - Scenekanten)

Fast-paced text and delicious punchlines went straight to the heart of the divorce generation when JUL I SKILSMISSELAND played to a sold-out audience at the Edison Stage. - The young theatre company Partner in Crime has created a super targeted and contemporary generational image.
